Hi, I'm Matt.I built GCTask because I've lived this problem from both sides.
As a homeowner, I spent hours trying to find a contractor I could actually trust — sorting through generic listings, posting in neighborhood groups only to get unsolicited opinions from people who'd never touched a tool, getting ghosted after asking for quotes, or hiring someone who turned out to be completely wrong for the job. The process felt broken, and I kept asking why this was so hard.
Working in the construction industry, I watched the same frustration play out in reverse. Great contractors losing jobs to low-ball bids from people who couldn't deliver.
