Two weeks ago Randy quoted me $150 to install a chain link fence gate and close up 3 gaps in the corners of the fencing. Great! Then he postponed because it was raining; no problem but the rain highlighted that I need my gutters cleared out so I asked a price for that and he said $200! I told him nevermind on that I'll just have my son do it. A few days later he hasn't showed so I call and he says he thought I cancelled because I was going to have my son do it. I clarified I was talking only about the gutters and still want him to do the gate and fence so we arrange for them to come a few days later due to more rain in the forecast. Today is the day; supposed to come this afternoon. I got to thinking he misunderstood about my son doing just the gutter work so maybe I misunderstood about the cost. Maybe he meant $200 for the fence AND gutters so I called to ask. He clarified he meant $200 for just gutters (on my small one story 600 sq ft house with about 40 feet of gutters). I said I understood and we'd just stick with the gate work then. At that point he tells me he's cancelling the job because he woke up today with a gut feeling something isn't right and he trusts his gut. He said something is off because my son can clean out the gutters but can't put in a gate. I pointed out putting in a gate takes some skill and he said it does not which is why he quoted me such a cheap price and he's just not going to do the job because his gut is always right and it's telling him something is off. Just wow. Totally unprofessional, terrible communication, and he thinks I'm "off" because I want a professional to install a gate rather than my son who knows nothing about the topic.

Hired him to build a waterproof shed. Had to point out the walls werenβt even attached to the foundation, and that they sat the wood frame down on the concrete without any kind of moisture barrier/protection. Donβt even get me started on aesthetics. He threw the trim away that was supposed to cover the exposed wood and bent more trim when it shouldβve just been laid over the wood. None of the cuts were accurate. He used water damage trusses. The doors donβt close appropriately, the shingles will come off in the next storm. The siding has already come off of it. The shelf that he himself built, almost killed his worker the next day, when it gave way Dropping the worker to the ground. I wouldnβt hire this man to clean the dog poop out of my yard. Absolutely unprofessional, and hostile. Very egocentric. Completely ignorant to proper construction!

The work was done well to my uneducated eyes, and the handyman arrived on time. My complaint is that for installing 23.5 feet of baseboard (already cut-except one little piece) and molding around one door (already cut--just needed to be nailed on where it had been pried off), cutting off one inch of a board and lifting it to the top of a cupboard, installing a closet rod and shelf (already cut and had the hardware), they charged me $641.25. When I sent the contact man, Jeff, a text asking why it was so much, I got no response. Jeff did call a couple of times while the job was being done, asking how things were going---and at that time they were fine--until I got the charge on my card. In my opinion they charge WAY too much for the small job they did. I had planned to use this company for jobs at my house that I will be renting out while I am working out of state for a year---but at that price, and with no response after charging me---I simply can't afford to throw my money away like that for very small jobs. I would have accepted an hour--two at the most--but NOT this much.
