SMS Messaging Terms
GCTask (gctask.com) is a home services marketplace connecting homeowners with local contractors ("Pros"). This page describes the text messages GCTask sends and exactly how you opt in.
GCTask does not send marketing or promotional text messages. No mobile information or SMS opt-in consent is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances. Every message below is transactional — tied directly to your own GCTask account and your own activity on the platform, never sent on behalf of, or to promote, an unrelated third party.
1. Phone verification codes
When you sign up or sign in with your phone number, GCTask sends a one-time passcode by text to verify it's really you. You opt in by entering your phone number and requesting a code at gctask.com/signup/phone.
Sample message
Your GCTask verification code is: 123456. Don't share this code with anyone.
2. Job alerts for Pros
Pro users can turn on text alerts for new jobs matching their trade and service area, so they can respond faster than checking email. This is off by default. A Pro opts in by creating a GCTask account, adding their phone number, and switching on "Text me new job alerts" in their dashboard at gctask.com/dashboard/pro/settings. The exact opt-in language shown there is reproduced below.

3. Opting out and help
Reply STOP to any GCTask text at any time to stop receiving messages, or turn off job alerts anytime in your dashboard settings. Reply START to resubscribe. Reply HELP for support — you can also reach us at contact@gctask.com. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies based on job activity in your area.
